Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026
WaveModus is a media management and collaboration platform for musicians and creators: you upload recordings, organize them in workspaces, annotate them with comments and audio notes, collaborate with connections, and optionally publish a public artist page. This policy explains what data we collect to make that work, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Data we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and password (stored hashed), or the profile details you share when signing in with Google.
- Your content — the audio, video and image files you upload, and everything you create around them: workspaces, comments, audio notes, segments, tags, gigs, press quotes and public page content.
- Collaboration data — your connections, workspace memberships, invitations, follows and likes.
- Technical and security data — session cookies to keep you signed in, and, for each visit, a short-lived security and usage log used to keep the service reliable and to prevent abuse. This includes your IP address (stored in anonymised form — the last part is removed so it cannot identify you individually), your browser, operating system and device type, a device signature (a one-way hash derived from these characteristics), and the page you viewed. We derive an approximate country from your IP for aggregate, privacy-friendly analytics; we do not store your precise location. This data is never used for advertising and is never sold.
Sign in with Google
When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account. We use this data only to create and secure your account and to show who you are to the people you collaborate with.
WaveModus's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide the service.
How we use your data
- To provide the service: storing, streaming and processing your media.
- To enable collaboration you initiate: sharing within workspaces, mentions and notifications.
- To publish only what you explicitly publish: public artist pages and the media you mark as public.
- To secure accounts and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your data and we do not show third-party advertising. Your uploads stay private to you and the workspace members you share them with, unless you publish them.
Storage, international transfers and retention
Your data is stored on secure servers operated by us or our hosting providers. Depending on where the service is hosted, these servers may be located in different regions around the world. Where your data is transferred outside your own jurisdiction — for example outside the European Economic Area — we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
We keep your account content for as long as your account exists. When you delete content it is removed from the service; when you delete your account, your personal data and uploads are deleted.
Technical and security data is kept only briefly and then deleted automatically: aggregate analytics for up to 90 days and the detailed security log (including the anonymised IP and device signature) for up to 30 days.
Cookies
We use functional cookies only: to keep you signed in and to remember interface preferences such as your theme. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data at any time from your account, or by contacting us. Under the GDPR you also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
